Wear it Pink fundraising event at Forth Valley Royal Hospital raises more than £2800
Forth Valley Royal Hospital’s Wear it Pink fundraiser collected more than £2800 for Breast Cancer Now.
The event, which was held on Friday, October 23, was organised by Leigh Daisley, a staff nurse in Area 2 of the Outpatients Department of the hospital.

Staff were encouraged to spruce up their daily attire with touches of pink in support of the charity, and the atrium at the clinic saw pink bunting and decorations strung up on the day.
The event was well attended throughout the day, and featured a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses and Area 2 staff, games, a Tombola, and a memory tree for people to honour a loved one or themselves.
Leigh’s original fundraising goal was £500, and nearly six times the amount was raised on the day, with the grand total sitting at £2822.
Leigh said: “A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event, purchased tickets, made donations, baked cakes, and contributed prizes. Your generosity and support helped make the fundraiser such a tremendous success.
“Thank you to all the donors who donated amazing prizes for the raffle and donations.”
The team works closely with thousands of patients each year, and have witnessed how important compassionate care, support, and clear information is for people affected by breast cancer.
At the event, colleagues and visitors shared their experiences of cancer and their appreciation for the fundraising efforts.
All money raised is going towards Breast Cancer Now’s research as they work towards a cure for cancer. Donations are still being accepted, and can be made online via the JustGiving page.
