Fun, food, music and drinks – find it all at the new look Callendar Arms, which is back open again under new ownership.
The Cally Arms has been a Falkirk institution for over 100 years; now it has a new owner, new menu, new look, and a very warm welcome.
Getting it set for its official opening in October 2026 has been a labour of love for Steven Muir, who after 10 years of working as a pub manager decided the time was right to take on his own place.

With a helping hand from his mum Karen Galloway – chief in charge of the internal makeover – Steven’s vision has re-invented The Callendar Arms. Described as comfortable, homely and fun, Steven says the ambiance is just what Bairns have been looking for.
“I want people to feel they are in their own living room when they are with us, totally at home and comfortable,” he said.
And while during the week the emphasis is more on food, live music and DJ nights set the weekends up for fun all the way.
The fun extends to the friendly team working the tables and behind the bar, who are always up for a bit of banter and to make customers feel that The Callendar Arms is where they are meant to be.
Described as a pub with restaurant, it can seat up to 60, and the menu is mouthwatering.

Menu makeover
While there’s no particular food-theme, with flavours from around the world making up the mixture of small plates and sharing plates, alongside pub classics, the early firm favourite is the Tattie Scone Nachos, served with haggis!
All home-made and super tasty, this is good food done well, served with a smile.
And the bar menus is equally exciting – there’s a huge range of all the usual favourites, plus hand-shaken cocktails, seasonal drinks, and a Venom range. Yes, the classic vodka, Southern Comfort, orange juice and Blue WKD offering is there, but Steven and the team have also created a 10-flavour Venom menu – ask for details to find out which is your favourite.
That’s entertainment
Every Friday night there’s live music in the bar, and every Saturday is a DJ night.
Over Christmas, that will ramp up, with special events planned for Mad Friday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and Hogmanay. Watch out for the soon-to-be-started Sunday night quiz nights.
There will be a special Christmas food and drinks menu, and office party nights are more than welcome – simply book your table to reserve your place.
Steven added: “Our opening night was a lot of fun, and we’ve really enjoyed welcoming people back. We’ve got lots planned for the New Year too – watch this space.”
