Brentford loanee Ben Krauhaus says Falkirk should aim for top six after Aberdeen win
Pittodrie matchwinner Ben Krauhaus says Falkirk should be aiming for top-six finish.
Ben Krauhaus says his Falkirk team-mates should be aiming for another Scottish Premiership top-six finish after Wednesday night’s 1-0 win at Pittodrie.
John McGlynn’s side beat Aberdeen to make it three wins in a row in the top flight for the first time since 2008 - and Brentford loanee Krauhaus believes that his new-look group can emulate last season’s brilliant Bairns’ squad.
He missed the Kilmarnock victory last Saturday due to a knock but returned to the squad against the Dons, and he made the difference off the bench with a fine finish.
Brentford ace says Falkirk should aim for top six
Our goal before the game was to win three in a row,” the attacking midfielder said. “We started the season okay. The performances were there but we didn’t get the results we should have.
“But now we are getting the results to match our performances. We have a good core from last season. And I think that the new guys are starting to show why the gaffer brought us here. We are building that togetherness now.
“I missed the last game due to a knock. It was disappointing not to start this one but the best case scenario was to come on and score the winner! The fans were amazing coming up to follow us.
“It was a good finish, similar to the one I scored against Hearts. Hopefully that can earn my place back in the team for Sunday. But I have to train well because the competition is there.”
Krauhaus added: “We have two very tough games coming up (Celtic then Hearts) but if we are going to beat Celtic then it will be at our place, with our fans. We’re in great form. We have won three in a row so clearly we are confident.
“I think we can achieve what the team last season achieved, finishing in the top six. I think that has to be the goal.”
