Falkirk care home worker recognised for ‘outstanding dedication’ and positive impact
A Falkirk care home worker has been awarded for his “outstanding dedication” at the 2026 Meallmore Colleague Awards.
Chris Heslop, a maintenance worker at Willow Lodge Care Home in Windsor Road, has bagged the Home Support Colleague of the Year Award at the annual Meallmore Colleague Awards event.

The prize recognises those who have made a positive impact on improving the lives of residents, their family members, and colleagues over the last year.
Chris was praised for keeping the care home comfortable, safe, and well maintained as he tackled urgent repairs and daily tasks with the same care and attention. Colleagues appreciate his technical skill alongside his calm approach when something unexpected occurs.
His nomination came from how he listens to residents and colleagues, takes pride in his work, and how he is always willing to lend a helping hand. While his work goes on behind the scenes, his effort is felt throughout Willow Lodge.
Chris said: “Winning this award was a total surprise. I just keep things working and keep it flowing, but it feels great to have won.”
The awards are now in their 15th year, and 230 people from across Meallmore’s 27 care homes in Scotland attended the event at Dunblane Hydro.
The awards cover 14 categories within social care, including nursing and care, hospitality, and leadership.
Cillian Hennessey, CEO of Meallmore, said: “The record-breaking response to this year’s awards is the perfect way to mark 15 years of our Meallmore Colleague Awards. Each nomination showcases the compassion, dedication and teamwork that define our Meallmore community and the impact our colleagues have on the lives of our residents, their families and the wider team. This is what makes Meallmore an exceptional place to live and work. Reading the nominations makes us so incredibly proud – all 2150 of them!”
