Larbert Musical Theatre's enchanting pantomime The Snow Queen will melt hearts
The team at Larbert Musical Theatre are preparing to tread the boards with some panto magic next month.
It’s that time of year again – oh yes it is! – when members are currently rehearsing for the company’s ever popular pantomime, which this year is The Snow Queen.
The panto runs at Larbert’s Dobbie Hall from Tuesday, November 24 until Saturday, November 28.
Once again the company is staging a traditional family pantomime which has been written by Derek D Easton and Daniel Baillie and the cast couldn’t be more excited.
Many years ago, the wicked Snow Queen killed Gerda and Kay’s parents because they owned magic mirrors powerful enough to defeat her. She destroyed the mirrors, but one small shard lodged in Kay’s eye and then her heart, freezing it and turning her cruel. The Snow Queen then kidnapped her and forced her to serve her.
As Christmas approaches, the town prepares for the Mayor’s Christmas Ball, organised by Jack Frost, but the Snow Queen returns, convinced Gerda knows where to find the last remaining mirror.
She gives Gerda until midnight to surrender it, warning that otherwise she will take revenge on Gerda and the entire town. Will Gerda surrender it, or will the town be doomed?
Audiences can once again expect a family friendly traditional pantomime packed with laughs, fantastic musical numbers, stunning costumes and plenty of audience participation.
The Snow Queen will run at 7.30pm nightly, and there are three performances on Saturday, November 28 – 10am, 2.30pm (sold out) and 7.30pm.
