Mural of a bottle: Donna's artwork gets the Grangemouth message across in a beautiful way
A Grangemouth shopping centre now boasts two amazing nautical themed murals after an artist braved storms to complete her masterpiece.
Yet another piece of eye catching public art has appeared in the Charlotte Dundas Court as Donna Forrester completed the second amazing mural planned for the loaction.
Earlier in the month David Crossley put in a weekend of hard graft and creative craft to complete his portrait – complete with a waterfall cascading out of the frame onto the pavement – of the historic Charlotte Dundas paddle steamer on a side wall in Charlotte Dundas Court shopping centre.
People have been stopping on their way to the shops to view David’s masterpiece and now they are gazing at Donna’s beautiful depiction of a young girl holding up a bottle containing the famous Charlotte Dundas paddle steamer.

Located on the wall between the KeyStore and the new 97 Pizzeria and Grill, Donna had to fit the artwork in between two major storms.
A post on Grangemouth and Skinflats Community Council Facebook page stated: “Thank you so much to Donna Forrester for completing our second and final mural in Charlotte Dundas Court.
"We can't believe you worked through two storms. We are so happy with the end result.”
The Charlotte Dundas Court project followed on from the Kerse Road Gap Project, which saw residents decide on what design they wanted to adorn the walls of the end buildings at the top of La Porte Precinct.

Artists Donna and David then began work on the chosen design – a depiction of the old town featuring the clock, with a man and his dog featured prominently on one side and a heron taking a breather at Grangemouth Docks on the other.
Now, with the artworks complete in Charlotte Dundas Court, Grangemouth and Skinflats Community Council has suggested some kind of local art trail could be a future attraction in the town.
In another online post the local watchdog stated: “We have Inchyra Park’s artworks and artworks in Charlotte Dundas, Rannoch Park, Burbank Road, Zetland Park, Kerse Road and York Square.
"I think it is fair to say an art trail is developing in our town. Maybe we need something to bring it all together.”
