Hallglen offender warned prison awaits unless he bucks up his ideas

Alan Meechan, 39, appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday having pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour at an address in Culmore Place, Hallglen, on August 11 last year.

The charge stated he pushed over a coffee table and threw food on the floor.

He also admitted breaching his bail conditions by contacting a woman at the same address between August 11 and August 12, 2025.

The court heard Meechan had been getting social workers visiting his 10 Calder Place, Hallglen home for some of his court ordered appointments, but had been failing to turn up to appointments he had to actually leave his home for.

“If you make it too easy for people this is what happens,” said Sheriff Maryam Labaki. "It’s not a good report and it’s astonishing. If you want to go out of prison you’re going the right way about it.”

She called for another review of the order on December 3 and warned Meechan not to miss any more appointments.
