Dennyloanhead offender dealt end of relationship blow at XOXO
Jodie McCartney, 27, appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday having pleaded guilty to engaging in a course of behaviour that was abusive of her partner at an address in McIntyre Avenue, Larbert and Walker Drive, Dennyloanhead from March 1, 2025 to March 1, 2026.
The court heard McCartney met the woman in Falkirk in 2024 and the relationship “started off well”.
"Five months into the relationship both parties were intoxicated,” said the procurator fiscal depute. “A verbal argument broke out and the accused smashed a photo frame.
"The witness told the accused she would have to leave. They tried to rekindle the relationship but the accused became very jealous for no reason and the witness told a friend the relationship was not good.

“In November 2025 the accused was in the address and had another verbal argument. The accused head butted a wall and smashed another photo frame, cutting her neck with shards of glass.
"The accused then grabbed the witness’s mobile phone off her and refused to leave the house. The witness decided to end the relationship she was so traumatised.
"On December 31 in XOXO nightclub she told the accused the relationship was over. The accused started crying and refused to accept this and the witness got in a taxi to go home.
"The accused got in the taxi with her and was crying and laughing maniacally.”
Sheriff Craig Harris placed McCartney, 14 Walker Drive, Dennyloanhead, on a supervised community payback order for 12 months and made her subject to a restriction of liberty order, meaning she must remain in her home from 7pm to 7am for the next 60 days.
