Grangemouth looks forward to big festive light switch on
Shoppers and visitors in Grangemouth will be able to enjoy entertainment aplenty and the big Christmas lights switch on next month.
The popular annual event, organised by Grangemouth and Skinflats Community Council, takes places from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, November 21, in La Porte Precinct, with all the action centred around the town centre’s bandstand.
Last year people braved the drizzle to enjoy routines from cheerleaders Sapphire Cheer, cool moves from the street dancers of DNC, martial arts skills from NAK Muay Thai and top turns from the talented young thespians of Young Portonians and Project Theatre.
As the final countdown to the festive illumination began young Iona San Jose led a community carol sing along and the amazing Lochlan McCaffrey piped his heart out.
Last year, event organisers stated: “We couldn't have asked for a better turnout. All the acts were amazing and most of all there was a real sense of community."
