Denny's Apex Vets ready for annual open fun day
Animals – and lots of them – will be the order of the day as a Denny vet prepares to welcome visitors to its annual open day this weekend.
The team at Apex Vets are excited to be hosting their annual open day at the surgery on Saturday, September 5.

People are invited to come and see what the vets do, as well as taking part in lots of fun activities throughout the afternoon.
Among the attractions this year will be the ever popular reptile handling experience and a chance to sit and pet the chickens in the mini barn yard.

There will be bird of prey handling with Owl Magic and a highland cow for selfies and the kids can brush his hair. Fergus the Meerkat will also be around on the day.
A kids’ corner will feature face painting, bouncy castle, candy floss, a bucking bronco, and the medieval zone, all for free. A fire engine from Denny fire station will also be there for visitors to have a look in.
The local makers market is back again and organisers say the craft market will be even bigger than last year. There will also be a huge charity tombola with some big prizes as well as a charity bake sale.
Of course, the day wouldn’t be the same without the annual doggy competition – so bring your pooch along to enter one of the fun competitions for the chance to win a prize.
The Apex Vets team will also be offering members of the public the chance to have a look behind the scenes with tours of the surgery suite with hands on exhibits.
Refreshments will be available including free tea, coffee and juice, alongside a snack van and an ice cream van.
There will also be a live broadcast and entertainment from Central FM.
Doug Patterson, from Apex Vets, said: “We have made some changes this year so are hoping for even more excitement and things to do and experience on the day.
"All proceeds from all of our activities this year are going to the Forth Valley Royal Hospital ICU ward and Hero Paws, a charity who rehome and rehabilitate retired military service dogs.”
The open day takes place at Apex Vets in Winchester Avenue, Denny on Saturday, September 5 from noon until 4pm.
