Falkirk trio strive to capture essence of 'late night creativity' with new single
Talking About Ray have come up with more than their fair share of catchy tunes over the last few years but have “never been happier” about their latest creation.
The Falkirk three-piece, Sarah Monteith-Skelton (vocals/guitar), Marty Guyan (bass) and Reece Ryan (drums), have always mined their deep seated influences – including Wolf Alice, Black Honey, and Pale Wave – to come up with their own original sound, which hovers in and around rock, indie and pop territory.
In the past they have come up with highly infectious hooks and lyrics that delve into themes of love, rebellion and self-discovery.
Now their latest single, Never Been Happier Than Here, looks at the actual creative process itself.

A band spokesbloke said: “This atmospheric indie pop-rock song is all about the magic of late-night creativity. Dreamy guitars, warm bass, and driving drums create a midnight atmosphere as inspiration flows through sleepless hours.
"Reflective verses build into a soaring, catchy chorus, capturing the feeling of chasing ideas, losing track of time, and turning late-night thoughts into something beautiful.”
Never Been Happier Than Here is released on Wednesday, September 30.
