Licence granted for Stenhousemuir Cricket Club anniversary celebration
A special anniversary celebration for Stenhousemuir Cricket Club has been granted a licence that will mean children and young people can take part in the full evening.
The club has been celebrating its 150th anniversary with a series of events, which will include a gala dinner being held on Saturday, September 19 in Larbert’s Dobbie Hall.

Falkirk Council’s licensing board agreed that children and young people can attend the event until it finishes at 11pm.
The club’s bar convener, Kevin Fernie, said the club had not realised that a separate licence would be needed to allow children and young people to attend the event after 10pm.
He told members that “children and young persons are very much a part of the club” and several junior members will be attending the event, which includes a three-course meal and a ceilidh dance.
Most junior members, he said, will be with their parents or grandparents and the event will be “well-supervised”, with trained waiters serving drinks as well as qualified door stewards on duty.
The event will now close at 11pm as the Dobbie Hall requires the hall to be fully cleared by midnight.
Councillors congratulated the club on its anniversary and members unanimously agreed to the occasional licence being granted for the event.
