Pumpkins roll into Grangemouth Stadium as wicked weather forces venue change
Grangemouth’s Inchyra Park had been gearing up for some frighteningly good fun this weekend with the return of popular the ever popular Pumpkins in the Park event.
However, the simply horrific weather conditions of recent days have forced the pumpkins to uproot and roll the relatively short distance to Grangemouth Stadium in Kersiebank Avenue.
The event, organised by Friends of Inchyra Park, still takes place from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, October 31, giving youngsters the chance to pick up a pumpkin and enjoy themselves.
An online post from organisers stated: “Due to the recent wet weather, we’ve made the decision to move Pumpkins in the Park to Grangemouth Stadium. With all the rain we’ve had recently, we feel the park just won’t have enough time to dry out properly before the event.

"We want to make sure everyone can enjoy the day safely and comfortably, including our wonderful stallholders and visitors. Please don’t worry – all the pumpkin fun, festivities and community spirit will still go ahead.
“There will be 500 pumpkins and 250 goody bags, as well as 200 apples to dook for. We’d like to thank the Grangemouth Sports Trust for reaching out.”
Last year’s event featured over 30 hard working volunteers who helped distribute 400 pumpkins, 200 goodie bags, 100 toffee apples and loads of sweets.
"It was so nice to see everyone come out,” said organisers, who revealed one family were so hyped about the event they turned up at the park a week early.
