Residents across the Falkirk area have been reminded of the last posting dates in the run-up to Christmas, to ensure cards, letters and festive parcels arrive in time.

The last posting date for second class mail is Friday, December 18, while Royal Mail Tracked 48 must be posted by Saturday, December 19. First class and Royal Mail Tracked 24 have a deadline of Monday, December 21. Special Delivery Guaranteed is the final option, with a last posting date of Wednesday, December 23.

Royal Mail will add extra deliveries until 8pm to meet increased demand.

Jamie Stephenson, Royal Mail’s chief operating officer, said: “Every year we pull out all the stops to deliver Christmas for our customers. This year, we’ve hired 22,000 seasonal workers to strengthen our operation during our busiest time of year. We’re going into Christmas with service improving and we’re focused on building on that progress.”
