Nothing ventured: Outdoor initiative could be turning point for Grangemouth offender

Appearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, Aidan Foy, 24, had admitted breaching his bail conditions by contacting a woman in Grove Street, Denny, between on May 30 and June 8.

He also pleaded guilty to resisting police officers in Grove Street, Denny, on June 8.

The court heard Foy was “showing some maturity” and the Venture Trust initiative, which he has been earmarked for, could be “the glue which heals matters”.

A registered Scottish charity that supports adults and young people facing severe adversity, the Venture Trust uses outdoor-based personal development and nature-based therapy to help make a difference.

Sheriff Maryam Labaki said: “It’s a real privilege to get to attend the Venture Trust and if you engage properly I think you will get a lot out of it. In fact, it might be a turning point for you.”

She placed Foy, 19 Scott Street, Grangemouth, on a supervised community payback order for 18 months and fixed a review for December 17.
