Joined by a team of dedicated volunteers as well as politician Martyn Day MSP, they raised a total of £1062.59 for the campaign, which marks its 30th anniversary this month.

Working alongside charity partners Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!, Asda Tickled Pink has raised more than £110 million to date, supporting world-class research, vital education and life-changing support for people impacted by breast cancer.

Martyn Day, SNP MSP, said: “Raising over £1000 is a fantastic achievement and reflects the generosity of the local community and the hard work of everyone involved.
"Campaigns like Tickled Pink make a real difference by supporting research, raising awareness and helping those affected by breast cancer. My thanks and congratulations go to all who gave their time, donated and helped make the event such a success."

For Hayley Richards, who has been volunteering in Asda stores as a customer for six years, supporting the Tickled Pink campaign is a cause close to her heart.

“I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of just 30, so I know first-hand how vital breast cancer awareness, education and fundraising are,” she said.

“This is my sixth year supporting the Tickled Pink campaign by visiting stores to help raise awareness and funds. I am also now a volunteer speaker for CoppaFeel! and I share my own experience to encourage people to check their chests regularly.

“I hope that by sharing my story, I can help others feel more confident about checking themselves and seeking advice if something doesn’t feel right. I’m incredibly proud to continue supporting Tickled Pink and the important work it does.”

As well as dressing up in tutus, sashes and Tickled Pink T-shirts, fundraisers sold bespoke campaign merchandise and spoke to customers about the campaign’s important work in supporting Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!.

Hazel Culbert, Customer and Community Champion at Asda Grangemouth, said: “A huge thank you to all my amazing volunteers - Rhea, Hayley, Jennifer, Val, Irene, Susan and Anne Marie. Every one of them was superb. For some, it was their very first-time volunteering, while others were seasoned pros. Each and every one brought incredible enthusiasm, energy and commitment.”

She added: “As a newcomer to the area, it was fantastic to have such wonderful local volunteers supporting me, helping to get customers involved and donating!”
