Falkirk Club of Soroptimists announces this year’s chosen charity as fundraising begins
The Falkirk Club of Soroptimists announced their chosen charity for the year will be Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance.
The club, which aims to see women and girls achieve their potential and have an equal voice within their communities, has already begun fundraising, and more events are lined up for the festive period to raise as much as they can for the charity.

September marked a new session year for the club, and it was then they announced that this year’s chosen charity would be Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).
Members of the Soroptimist club have had friends or family that experienced support from the medical emergency service in the past, and the team will be raising money to support the charity.
Several members are walking, cycling, or swimming 100 miles this October to fundraise for the SCAA. So far, the group have received £1,525 in donations which will go towards the charity.
As the darker nights draw in, the group are hoping to light some joy at their festive craft stall next month. They will be selling gifts crafted by their members at the Christmas Fayre, which will be held at Dobbie Hall in Larbert on Sunday, November 15 from 10am to 2pm.
Various knitted, crocheted, or sewed items will be on sale, as well as Christmas tree decorations, Christmas angels and ornaments, cushions, tote bags, baby blankets, and toys. All proceeds raised from the stall will be donated to the SCAA.
More events will take place throughout the year as the club continues their fundraising efforts.
The SCAA provides support across the country, helping transport patients affected by all kinds of accidents, including road traffic collisions and cardiac incidents. Their helicopter transport can move seriously ill patients from the Highlands and Islands to larger hospitals, significantly reducing the travel time compared to if patients had to travel via road or ferry.
