Drivers facing disruption with five nights of carriageway closures
Drivers in the Falkirk area face disruption with the overnight closure of a motorway carriageway between Monday, September 14, and Friday, September 18.
Essential construction to replace joints and resurface the carriageway on the bridge carrying Moss Road over the M9 motorway north of Stenhousemuir is set to begin next week.
For the safety of drivers Moss Road will be closed between Drysdale Avenue in Stenhousemuir and Kersebrock Farm north of the M9, between 8pm and 6am each night.
Bear Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland will carry out the repairs.
Diversions during the course of the five-days will take place as follows,
Southbound traffic will be diverted north via Moss Rd, east via the B9124, south via the A905, and west via Bellsdyke Road, adding an estimated 11.5 miles and 20 minutes to affected journeys. Northbound traffic will be diverted along the same route in reverse.
Necessary bodies have been notified ahead of schedule to limit disruption and raise awareness of the temporary traffic management arrangements.
David Bishop, BEAR Scotland’s South East Unit Bridges Manager, said: “This programme of repair is key to ensuring the structural integrity of this bridge.

“The works have been planned to minimise disruption to road users as far as possible, however some road closures are unavoidable. These will be limited to overnight hours to minimise any disruption.
“We thank road users in advance for their patience and understanding while our teams carry out these essential works.”
All work is subject to weather conditions and the existing condition of the structure.
