Mum said her pregnancy was complicated as she had a very low lying placenta. She had loads of scans to make sure the placenta wasn’t attached to her old section scar or her bladder as it had the potential to bleed. Lucas was due on June 26, but due to the low lying placenta when mum had scans on June 2 and 3 the blood flow had increased through the placenta and a caesarean section was planned for June 4.

Mum said the section went really well, but the day after she developed complications when her bowels stopped working so that kept her in hospital for a few more days than planned.

Mum and dad chose the name Lucas as they both loved it. Mum surprised dad with baby’s middle name and told him while in the operating theatre. His middle name is after Steven’s brother Allan who passed away suddenly a couple of years ago. Lucas is very bubbly and smiles all the time.

His proud grandparents are Louise Reed, Garry Reed, Anne Peck and Jonathan Peck.

Mum would like to thank her partner Steven for supporting her through the pregnancy and helping out when he can.
