Grangemouth rammy saw highly emotional offender take off top and 'bang' hands on floor

A first offender who hounded and abused his ex partner – at one stage taking his top off and banging his hands on the floor – was said to have difficulty regulating his emotions.

Lee Brown, 23, appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday having pleaded guilty to a number of offences – the most recent of which saw him behave in a threatening manner at an address in Carron Place, Grangemouth on September 12.

The charge stated Brown refused to return a set of keys, refused to leave a property, took his top off, repeatedly banged his hands of the floor, took a woman’s phone and reached into her property through a window from outside.

He also admitted threatening behaviour and assaulting a woman – seizing her by the hair – on July 3 and recklessly destroying property, damaging a wall, on July 4 an address in Carron Place, Grangemouth.

One of the offences Brown admitted stretched from December 1, 2025 until September 14, 2026 and involved him engaging in a course of conduct that was abusive of his partner at Carron Place, Grangemouth, as well as Tim Hortons, Tryst Road, Stenhousemuir, Newlands Road, Brightons and elsewhere.

The charge stated Brown repeatedly contacted the woman via text, voicemail and social media, uttering offensive remarks towards her, throwing a cup of coffee towards her, striking her leg, repeatedly asked her to get back together with him, repeatedly attending at her home uninvited, sending unwanted gifts to her, making threats to kill himself and checking her current location through social media.

The court heard first offender Brown presented with a “high level of emotion” at court and was said to be a “vulnerable” person who struggled to “regulate his emotions”.

It was stated he had been subject to electronic monitoring while on bail.

Sheriff Maryam Labaki placed Brown, 33 Monklandview, Bargeddie, on a supervised community payback order for two years with the condition he complete 225 hours of unpaid work in that time.

Sentence was deferred on other matters until December 17 to ascertain the cost of damage Brown caused during one of his offences.
