Update: Patients get word from Falkirk area about computer system status

Patients of a local medical practice had been unable to receive prescriptions or book appointments for two days after the clinic’s computer system experienced a “major outage”.

The system at Kinneil Medical Practice, in the Kinglass Centre, Gauze Road, Bo’ness, had been down since Monday morning.

However, in a Facebook post on Wednesday, September 2, the practice stated: “We are pleased to advise that our system issues have now been resolved. We will be able to offer routine appointments from 2.30pm this afternoon and emergency appointments from 8am tomorrow.

“If you have requested a prescription since Friday evening, please be assured that we are working through all requests as quickly as possible. We would be grateful for your continued patience while we clear the backlog.

“Thank you for your understanding and support.”

Back in July Kinneil Medical Practice closed its reception “until further notice”, stating this was due to a “staff shortage”.
