Forth Valley College is set to hold open evening events across its three campuses to give prospective students a chance to see what the college has to offer.

The college is looking to attract school leavers who are figuring out their next steps and people considering a return to education to retrain, change career paths, increase their earning potential, or gain an improved work-life balance.

Parents and guardians looking to help their children make informed decisions about their future are also welcome to come along to the event.

At the open evenings, visitors can find out more about the courses and apprenticeship opportunities that the college offers.

Employers from different industries will also be in attendance to promote current apprenticeship opportunities and vacancies. Staff will be available to offer expert advice from subject areas to funding, and will also offer tours of the facilities.

Representatives from the College’s teaching departments and Apprenticeships, Skills and Commercial Team will also be present to answer any questions and give guidance on the available courses.

The Falkirk campus event will allow guests to see what facilities their new Skills Transition Centre - which was funded through the Falkirk and Grangemouth Growth Deal - has to offer, including robotics, a driving simulator, and an Augmented Reality wielding kit.

Kenny MacInnes, principal of Forth Valley College said: “Our open evenings offer a fantastic opportunity for people to come along and find out about the different options available to them – whether they’re interested in a full-time course, finding out about Modern Apprenticeship vacancies currently on offer, thinking about studying for one of our school partnership courses or pursuing a degree qualification.

“These events are also really useful for people considering applying to college who may have questions around things such as student funding or the application process – and they’re also an excellent opportunity to find out what qualifications and skills employers are looking for.”

The Stirling campus’s open event will run from 4.30pm to 7pm on Wednesday, November 11. Alloa’s will be held on Thursday, November 12, from 4.30pm to 7pm.

To register their attendance, guests should visit the FVC website.
