Martyn McLaughlin is the investigations correspondent and a columnist for The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday. He is a two-time winner of the daily reporter of the year award at the UK Regional Press Awards. In 2022, he was named regional journalist of the year at the Headlinemoney awards for his investigations into offshore firms claiming pandemic furlough financing. His reporting on the finances of Donald Trump's Scottish businesses also saw him highly commended by the prestigious Wincott Awards, and shortlisted at the British Journalism Awards. Martyn has also developed several radio and television documentaries for the BBC, including the award-winning BBC Two series, 'Fair Isle: Living on the Edge'.
