Laken Beattie turned four on Sunday and, much to his surprise and delight, police showed up to wish him well.

With the coronavirus lockdown altering the birthday plans slightly, Laken’s mum Nicole contacted the force to ask if an officer would kindly present him with a police uniform his family had bought as a gift.

Cops from Falkirk and Grangemouth then went “above and beyond” the call of duty to make the celebrations extra special.

As well as having his pictures taken with officers, Laken was also given a chance to sit inside a police van.

Nicole said: “We were overwhelmed with their kindness and they have given Laken a memory he will have forever.”
