With just under a week to go until the Denny 5K community fun run, organisers are reminding anyone hoping to take part to sign up now.

Whether chasing personal bests, taking part for the first time, or competing against friends, runners have been encouraged to sign up by Denny District Community Group before the Sunday morning event.

Limited to 200 places, entries are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration on Sunday, August 2 begins at 9.30am, with the race setting off at 10am sharp. Organisers have promised that a special guest will be in attendance to launch the race.

Denny residents who aren't taking on the 5k challenge are encouraged to come along and cheer on runners as they start and finish the route on Broad Street.

Anyone wishing to sign up before Sunday's event can do so at Cafe Anton or Carron Valley Formal Dress, both premises can be found on Denny’s Stirling Street.
