Water supplier pulls the plug on plans for Larbert treatment works

A longstanding proposal to beef up security at a soon-to-be decommissioned waste water treatment site appears to have gone down the drain for now.

Scottish Water lodged an application with Falkirk Council on November 24 to make a number of upgrades to their Torwood waste water treatment works in the Larbert area.

The plans sought to install new security fencing, reinstate a stone wall, construct at lamppost security gate and create vehicle access with a pedestrian crossing.

However, the applicant withdrew the plans on Friday, May 15.
