I’m a vertical specialist writer for National World, publishing food and drink content across the company’s portfolio.
After graduating from university in 2022 with 2:1 in Journalism, I began working for National World as a Digital Journalist in the same year, creating content for NewcastleWorld and later the Shields Gazette. Working in local news, I visited many restaurants and bars in the North East, taste testing and reviewing delicious dishes and beverages. In my personal time, I love to spend my weekends exploring brand-new restaurants, cafes, bars and more.
I’m known for being what some may call a ‘weird eater’, as I love to tuck into the most bizarre of delicacies as well as being always willing to try something new. More of a savoury than a sweet-toothed person, my favourite food includes oysters, sushi, olives and steak - and I’m certainly partial to a cocktail or two!
I also love to chat to individuals from all walks of life, and in previous job roles I have learned basic British Sign Language, and I’m currently in the process of learning other languages, to help with my travels to try global cuisine.
Outside of work, I am the co-host of a comedy pop culture podcast and TikTok profile named A Toast To Pop Culture, as well as being part of a book club with four other women as we attempt to ‘make book clubs cool again’.
