Gary Anderson’s wifi woes halt progress of former Pennies Bar ace and PDC world champion

Former Falkirk league player Gary Anderson has had to withdraw from the PDC Home Tour schedule because his internet connection is too weak.

The matches were due to be played tonight, screened from players’ homes and streamed on the PDC website, but Anderson’s signal in Somerset is not strong enough to take part, The Sun reports.

Anderson played locally for Pennies Bar before going on to achieve top level success and landing the World Championship in the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) in 2015 and 2016.

In the absence of sporting events, the PDC scheduled a 32-night event to be streamed from players’ houses, and another Scot, Peter Wright, will throw first in tonight’s launch at pdc.tv.

Despite some local links to the darts leagues around Falkirk, Anderson hails from the east coast and lived in Eyemouth before moving south to Somerset.
