Transfer business "pretty much" finished for Falkirk says McCracken

Falkirk co-manager David McCracken says they are now satisfied with the squad he and Lee Miller have assembled.

The Bairns added Sean Kelly yesterday afternoon, securing the defensive numbers they'd been working to get, and now McCracken says they will only look to bring in more players should they become available in the loan market.

He said: "We've been trying for a number of weeks to get another defender in, ideally a left sided one.

"Sean is a good player with good experience and a good background with the promotion at Ross County and we know the level he has competed at.

"Now we're pretty much finished, if another possible loan came up we'd take a look but we're happy with where we're at."

After all the hard work of assembling the squad for the push toward the League 1 title there was nearly a major set back when it looked for a second that on-loan Motherwell keeper PJ Morrison may be recalled to Fir Park.

Thankfully though the Steelmen managed to bring in their own loan signing to cover for their shortfall of keepers and Morrison will remain with the Bairns.

"We spoke with Motherwell and they understood our position and fortunately for us we've managed to keep PJ,” said McCracken.

Now the complete Falkirk squad are working together preparing for this Saturday’s match at home to East Fife, having put the disappointment of last Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Forfar Ahtletic behind them.

"We know it's going to be a tough game with the players they have and the way they play,” said McCracken.

"They are hard to beat but have good players going forward, they like to dictate play and are strong defensively.

""We spoke about the Forfar game on Monday, took that on board and put it to bed so we could focus on moving forward.

"They worked hard defensively and were decent on the counter attack.

"We expect a different sort of game from East Fife, they did well last year and will be looking to push on from that - they won’t come here to sit in and try and defend, they will want to come here and have a go.”
