The sides traded second half goals, and the managers both felt a point was a fair result, despite feeling their sides could have won the match.

Jason Cummings scored an equaliser for Hibs after Blair Alston had given them the lead shortly after half-time.

The Bairns though were let off the hook when ref John Beaton ignored calls for a penalty for the visitors when Luke Leahy tackled John McGinn in the box.

Peter Houston made comments after the match about the incident, but today retracted these on the Falkirk FC website. He addeD: “I have also called Alan Stubbs to pass on my apologies to John (McGinn).”
