The Bairns bosssigned free agent Conrad Balatoni yesterday and, as our sister paper the Edinburgh Evening News revealed yesterday, made moves to bring Jordan McGhee to the Bairns.

That switch is now complete with McGhee signing on a one-year contract with a further year’s option.

The Scotland under-19 and under-21 captain has made over 50 appearances at Tynecastle plus spent time on loan at Middlesbrough last term.

boss Peter Houston said: “Jordan is a player of real quality and one with massive potential still to fulfill in the game.

“He comes recommended and at 21 will be a real asset to the club.

“I said all along I wanted two players to strengthen and both Jordan and Conrad Balatoni were my key targets.”

McGhee said: “This is a big club and belongs in the top flight, I hope to be able to get it there.”
