The road closures are needed to enable Scottish Water to upgrade pipes to allow a number of new houses to connect to the public water supply.

The new pipes will be installed under Blackbraes roundabout to allow connections to the existing pipes which are supplied by nearby Greyriggs service reservoir. As such, all roads to the roundabout need to be closed.

Donnie McIntyre, Scottish Water project manager, said: “We recognise this work will cause some traffic disruption in the area.

Falkirk Council have approved the road diversions. Greyriggs service reservoir supplies water to more than 2000 customers/properties living in Avonbridge and Standburn areas.
