New Carron man Craig won over the hearts of the nation with a series of stunning displays before triumphing in Saturday night’s live final.

Falkirk East MSP Angus MacDonald has now tabled a motion in the Scottish Parliament in recognition of the 23-year-old’s remarkable achievement.

The SNP representative’s motion “congratulates Craig on winning this series of The Voice, wishes him the very best of luck with his career and looks forward to hearing more from him in the future”.

An ex-pupil of St Mungo's High School and St Francis Xavier’s Primary School in Falkirk, Craig has secured himself a professional contract with Polydor Records.

His self-written winner’s single, Come Waste My Time, was released immediately after the show and shot to the top of the UK iTunes chart within a matter of hours.
