New Citylink M6 route to link Falkirk and Edinburgh Airport

Scottish Citylink has announced the launch of a new coach route that connects Falkirk with Edinburgh Airport.

The new M6 route, which launches on Saturday, October 24, will run between Aberdeen, Perth Broxden Park & Ride, Edinburgh Airport, Falkirk and Glasgow.

With four round trips per day, the service creates new connections for Falkirk commuters within the Citylink network, as well as links to Edinburgh Airport from several other locations including Inverness, Dundee, Aviemore and Pitlochry.

Local stops covered by the new route include Falkirk Sheriff Court, Newmarket Street in Falkirk, Forth Valley College on Middlefield Road and Grangemouth opposite Newlands Garage. The journey from Falkirk to Edinburgh Airport will take close to 36 minutes.

Scottish Citylink managing director Simone Walsh said: “This new route is an exciting development within our operations, offering new direct services between Aberdeen and Glasgow as well as enabling Falkirk customers to access even more of our network more easily.”

Stephanie Wear, chief commercial officer at Edinburgh Airport, said: “Good public transport links are an important part of making Edinburgh Airport accessible for passengers from across the country, so it’s great to see Scottish Citylink launch this new service.

“This new route will make it easier for people in Aberdeen, Perth and Falkirk to access Scotland’s busiest airport and the global connectivity it provides, and we look forward to working with Scottish Citylink as it gets underway.”

Tickets are available now, and the full timetable can be found on the Scottish Citylink website.
