Grangemouth’s Kerse Cabs had already helped the community at the start of the coronavirus pandemic last year, doing free runs to Iceland stores for elderly people to ensure they were able to get their vital shopping amid worries over panic buying.
Now the firm has answered the call from Bowhouse Community Association to offer free transport to elderly people who probably would not be able to get their COVID-19 vaccination without it.

Kerse Cabs and Bowhouse Community Association said no one should go without their vaccine due to transport difficulties – and it is important to keep as many people as possible as safe as possible.
Gordon Waddell, Kerse Cabs director, said: “When Bowhouse came to us asking if we could help them out, they said they would meet the cost of transport.
"We decided to take it one step further and split the cost with them.

“We will pick the people up from their homes, take them to their vaccination appointment and then take them home again.
A lot of people have problems walking and may not have been able to get out to get their vaccination without us doing this.”
Kerse Cabs is scheduled to pick up their first VIP vaccination passenger on Friday.

John McNally, Falkirk MP, said: “The joining of forces between Bowhouse Community Centre and Kerse Cabs is a fabulous example of the kind of clear thinking and thoughtful action shown by many of our citizens.”
