Newcarron Court Care Home, in Ronades Road, Bainsford, asked residents where they would like to go so staff could plan upcoming trips.
Activity coordinator Natalie Davidson, who organised the big day out, said "After the COVID-19 restrictions were eased we wanted to make up for lost time and plan some excursions.

The party – May Aitken (91), David Curle (87), Moira Davidson (87), Susan Elliot (89), Margaret Ferguson (84), Patsy Gentleman (81), June Jarvie (76), Jean Kinniburgh (92), Helen McClung (79), Anna Mattia (80), Robert Penman (78) and Sadie Shackleton (89) – enjoyed food and refreshments at the Railway Bistro and the view of the three bridges and the Firth of Forth.
Natalie said: “It was a lovely lunch and the staff were great and made us all feel so welcome. We then went outside for a wee cup of tea and a look around and we were all reminiscing about previous visits and how the place hasn't changed much over the last 60 or 70 years – well apart from the giraffe.”
The giraffe in question is one of over 40 sculptures that highlight iconic spots in and around Edinburgh.
