Officers are now investigating the disturbance involving the individual.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.45pm on Wednesday, 27 January, we received a report of an altercation at a premises on Main Street in Avonbridge. Nobody was injured and enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
One resident, who did not want to be named, said: “He moved to the village last year during lockdown. At first he was loud but harmless, but now he’s making his neighbours’ lives hell.”
The individual is apparently breaching COVID-19 restrictions as well.
Another householder said: “A couple of nights ago he turned up in a Glasgow taxi. He was refused alcohol at a local shop because he was drunk and went on to scream in the owner’s face, spitting while shouting.
"The entire village is scared something bad is going to happen.”
