Appeal to help trace missing Forth Valley man

Police in Forth Valley are appealing for help to trace a 59-year-old man who has been missing since last Wednesday

Paul Cairney was last seen outside his home in The Brae, Bannockburn on Wednesday, 15 July, and has now been reported missing as concerns for his whereabouts are increasing.

Police believe he may be camping in the Highlands and Islands.

He is described as 5ft 7ins, with short greying hair and wears glasses.

It is not known what Paul is currently wearing but it is likely to be outdoor clothing and he may have a rucksack and camping gear, including a tent.

Police Constable Graeme Boyle, said: “Paul is a keen walker and camper and may have travelled some distance, including across the Highlands and Islands, to pursue his hobby of visiting and photographing bothies.

“If anyone has seen Paul we urge them to get in touch with us. Likewise, if Paul sees this appeal we ask him to contact us to let officers know that he is safe and well.
