Michael Kerr came up with the idea of drawing fictional metro maps for West Lothian towns and producing them as posters to sell online.

He has now drawn WackyMetro maps for Linlithgow, Bathgate, Armdale, Livingston, Whitburn, Dunfermline and is currently drawing one for the Stirling area along with a personalised version, which is a new service he is providing.

And he says he’s been surprised at how successful the Linlithgow version has been.

Michael, whose works in IT, said : “I was bored one Saturday during lockdown and it was raining outside.

“I live in Bathgate now, and I said to my son over breakfast how funny it would be if Bathgate had a metro, and I suggested a station at the steelyard.

“He then threw a host of other stations at me and I decided to draw it. I put it on the Bathgate Bairns Facebook page and got some great feedback, so I decided to create some more.

“I’ve since drawn Linlithgow and Livingston (the latter where I grew up and still have a real fondness for the town, however the Royal Burgh has been one that seems to have really caught on locally.”

The Lithgae version has the Palace Line, Kingsfield Line, Preston and Canal Lines .
