McDonald’s brand new drive through restaurant – which has provided jobs for 110 local people – is open.

The new premises in Glasgow Road, officially opens for business this morning.

It is run by local franchisee Elliot Jardine – who now owns and operates nine restaurants across Falkirk, Stirling, Alloa and Edinburgh.

It is currently drive through and delivery only due to Scottish GovernmentCovid-19 restrictions.

Mr Jardine said: “It’s always an exciting day to open a new restaurant and to be given such a warm welcome from the local community has been the icing on the cake. If you’re in the area, pop by and say hello – we’re operating Drive-Thru and McDelivery for the moment – but you’ll still get that famous McDonald’s welcome!”

The new restaurant boasts all the latest innovations from McDonald’s, focused on improving and enhancing the restaurant experience for customers. Once dining areas re-open, self-service kiosks mean visitors can order at a speed that suits them, while easily accessing nutritional information and making informed food choices.

Digital menu boards will also be displayed at the drive through.

Rachel Murray, newly promoted business manager, added: “It was a great feeling to finally open our doors this morning and welcome our first customers through the Drive-Thru.

"I’m so proud of our team, who have went above and beyond to really make this a special moment and we’re looking forward to welcoming our customers over the coming weeks. Stop in and say hello – we’re officially open for business!”
