Dunelm, in Falkirk Central Retail Park, is taking part in the national Delivering Joy campaign, which aims to deliver thousands of gifts across the country to those less fortunate this Christmas.

Shoppers in Falkirk can make a Christmas wish come true by donating a shoebox of gifts from now until December 11, which will then be delivered to local residents of a Forth Valley area care home, as well as local schools and women’s refuges across the region.

People have written on gift tags small wishes that would make a big difference to them this Christmas. The tags can be found on the Christmas tree at the front of the store, where a staff member will provide shoppers with a shoebox to then fill with gifts and place under the tree.

The initiative comes as many people across the country are met with financial hardship and continue to isolate in care homes.

Store manager Billy King said: “It has been a challenging year and we, with the support of our customers, are committed to helping those within the community who are less fortunate this Christmas.

“We’ve seen such a positive response to the campaign, both in store and on social media - particularly in the Dunelm Falkirk Community Support Facebook group, that we’re confident that with the generous support from the people of Falkirk, we’ll be able to put smiles on hundreds of deserving faces.”
