For GBMAXI Masters pair Keith Bunyan and Stuart Mackay, this weekend sees the Falkirk Fury captain and former Fury star face up against a Fury men’s select team in two training games held at the Playsport Arena in East Kilbride.

Bunyan and Mackay are part of the GB 45-plus Masters team that will soon be competing in European GBMAXI competition in Italy and the training games this weekend are part of the teams’ build-up to that event.

It is also a welcome break for Bunyan and Mackay, who regularly travel 500 miles to England to take part in sessions down south.

With the programme mainly player funded it is great to see the Caledonia Gladiators providing the training venue and Fury themselves are contributing and promoting the GBMAXI programme by helping provide match officials as well as the opposition this weekend.

The Fury pair have had great domestic success this season with Bunyan taking his senior men's side to a fantastic national SBC treble while the pair recently won the Strathclyde Anderson Cup with their local league side, Lockerbie.

The range of players in the local basketball scene, and with Fury, could not be better demonstrated on a week where the club have showcased the Falkirk Primary School League finals day, senior Caledonian Gladiators ace and ex-Fury ace Fraser Malcolm hitting the heights at pro-level, and Keith and Stuart at 46-years-old still playing at the highest level – taking part in the GB Masters basketball programme.
