Tryst Festival kicks off in Falkirk

The highlight of the Falkirk arts scene, The Tryst Festival, kicks off next week with something for everyone.

The festival starts with a parade through Falkirk on Saturday, May 9 with 20 other events in venues across the district.

On May 10 Central Scotland Ballet School hold their annual choreography competition at Grangemouth Town Hall and on May 12 floral demonstrator Diane Fair will join Falkirk Floral Art Club at Falkirk Town Hall for a presentation. Sweet Harmony Barbershop Singing will entertain at Falkirk Town Hall on May 15, bringing their capella style to a variety of well known songs.

Young performers will take to the FTH stage on May 18 for a junior version of ‘Disney’s Alice in Wonderland’ while Sunny Stars will present an ‘Evening of Fairy Tales’ with actors aged 3-12 on May 21-22.

Larbert Amateur Operatic Society will put on ‘Footloose’ at the Dobbie Hall on May 12-16 and the festival will end with Falkirk Tryst Orchestra’s Spring Concert.

Conducted by Robert Tait, the concert will play classical and light music based around the famous Grieg Piano Concerto in A Minor.
