Two weeks of summer schools are being held at Falkirk Town Hall to give budding actors and dancers a chance to shine.

Each summer Falkirk Community Trust offers local children the chance to work with a professional director, choreographer and musical director to learn acting, singing and dancing skills as well as meet new friends in a relaxed and friendly environment.

The summer schools welcome youngsters between the ages of seven and 18 and no previous experience is needed.

The week culminates with a performance on the main stage at FTH for proud parents, friends and members of the public.

Julia Harkness, Falkirk Community Trust’s venues manager said: “We are delighted to offer a second week of musical theatre workshops at FTH.

“Ready Steady Show has been hugely popular part of the summer programme for a number of years and the young performers really bring a buzz to the venue for the week.”

‘Ready Steady Show! - Red’ runs from July 20 to 24 and will see youngsters working on a new twist on an old classic featuring a little girl in a red cloak and the witches from that well known Scottish play.

This is a specially written new piece of musical theatre featuring lots of familiar characters in not so familiar settings.

The second summer school will use ‘James and the Giant Peach’ when it runs between August 10 to 14.

Grab a slice of the action in this scrumptious adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic in this crazy tale of James and his fantastical friends as they escape from the evil aunties.

Workshops run daily in Falkirk Town Hall from 10am until 4pm with an evening

performance on the Friday at 7pm.

Tickets for the week-long workshop cost £75 and are available from the bookings

and sales team on (01324) 506850.
