House music hits the great outdoors later this month as underground sounds go up the country for the third In the Woods Festival.
The event takes place at Inch Farm, Kincardine, from 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, with sets from headliners Sidney Charles and Pirupa and a whole squadron of talented deck warriors to keep people dancing through to Sunday.
Organiser and DJ Riccardo Chicarella, who will also be spinning a few tunes this year, said: “In The Woods is a small boutique festival, located in beautiful rural farmland. It’s really going from strength to strength and, with an indoor and outdoor experience and the hottest headliners, this is the festival everyone wants to be a part of.
“In the Woods is very relevant just now with house music controlling a lot of the charts. We are now in our third year with a near 100 per cent growth each year and have a very strong following from the Falkirk and Grangemouth, with over half our festival goers coming from those areas.”
The chance to see German-born Sidney Charles on the turntable will be a mouth-watering prospect for any die hard dance fan and worth the price of admission alone. Heavily influenced by house music’s late 80s and early 90s golden age, the Hamburg Hurricane is a real floor filler.
Riccardo said: “In the Wooders are in for a special treat, with two of the DJs and producers in the world coming to Kincardine. Pirupa recently won Track of the Season at the Ibiza DJ Awards and Sidney Charles topped Resident Advisor’s top 100 most charted artists of 2013.”
Tickets are now available from North Star, in Vicar Street, Falkirk, and buses will be running to and from the event from that venue, which will also be hosting an In the Woods pre-party the Saturday before the big day, featuring promotions and giveaways galore for the festival.
The line-up for In the Woods 2014 is Sidney Charles, Pirupa, Riccardo Pietro Chicarella, William Auld “Vilmos”, Graham Doc, Scotty Davidson, Steven Fallon, David Heggie and Graeme Cameron.
