After impressing crowds at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Vive le Cabaret is coming to Falkirk.
Combining comedy, dance and the art of burlesque, the production has already enjoyed two sell out runs at the world’s biggest arts festival and will be at Falkirk Town Hall tomorrow.
The Falkirk Follies, the town’s very own burlesque dancers, will kick off the event with a performance. The troupe, who are aged between 16 -70, started after meeting at a beginners burlesque class run by professional Gypsy Charms and have already wowed the crowds at FTH as the opening act for a burlesque movie showing earlier in the year.
Gypsy will also be performing with fellow burlesque artist Cherry Loco and dancing duo The Kitch Cats will display the Can Can and their own spin on the Olympics.
Joining them on stage will be Edinburgh acrobats Hustle and host Desmond O’Connor.
Falkirk Follies dancer Lesley Park said: “I love the whole ethos of the glamorous, sultry side of burlesque, it allows me to step outside the parameters of what everyone expects of me and lets me play dress up.
“To me this performance is the culmination of all our effort and spreads the joy I’ve had, and rather than feel inhibited, the roar of the greasepaint, smell of the crowd has always egged on my extrovert!”
Vive le Cabaret starts at 8 p.m. tomorrow (August 31) in FTH and tickets are still available priced £12 (£10) from the Steeple Box Office on Falkirk High Street or by calling (01324) 506850.
