Singer-songwriter Jill Hepburn has recorded an album with one of her musical heroes.
‘The Lantern Has Fallen’ is the second album for the Falkirk-based artist, and includes tracks produced by folk troubadour/Daintees front man Martin Stephenson, who also plays guitar on the release. It also features Kenny Brady, formerly of The Fall, on fiddle, mandolin and backing vocals.
Her first EP, ‘Groovy Enough For Two’, gained positive reviews in ‘The List’ and ‘Is This Music?’, and was followed by debut album, ‘Snowflake’, which was album of the week on BBC Scotland’s Iain Anderson show. She also played support slots with Stephenson as well as Ballboy.
Her second album, recorded at The Tolbooth studio in Stirling, is out now. Jill is featured artist at the open mic Out of the Bedroom at Edinburgh’s Montague Bar on Saturday.
