One of the local area’s finest hard rock acts are about to unleash their tight knit new unit on Falkirk for the first time.
Unit Seven have been making sonic waves since the bare bones of the outfit clicked into place a couple of years ago, but after a short break they returned at the start of 2013 with a bigger, better line-up than ever before and a new sound that’s been kicking some musical behind in big city venues like the Liquid Rooms and Ivory Blacks.
The new look band, David McCabe (vocals), Craig Turnbull (guitar), Ryan Cassidy (guitar), Colin McNeill (bass) and Ben White (drums), make their debut on home soil at Behind the Wall on Thursday, September 26.
Ben said: “We did decide to take time out for a little while. I was doing a sound engineering course at college when I met Ryan so when we decided to start the band up again we added him as second guitar and Colin came on board as the new bass player.”
Ryan added: “We seemed to gel quite quickly, with the new line-up bringing a bit of a metal edge to the band’s hard rock sound.”
Unit Seven have released an album in the past but say they can’t wait to get into the studio to record some tracks and capture their new powerhouse sound.
“We’re working towards a second album,” said Ben. “We have around five demos which feature the new line-up. The band does definitely sound different and we want people to hear it.
“Ryan and I have the sound equipment and knowledge of recording, it’s just finding the time to record the songs between gigs because we’re constantly booking shows. We’re just going to do the album a bit at a time.”
Unit Seven cannot wait to give their home town a real live taste of their latest line-up. Supporting them at BTW next Thursday are The 117 and No More Idols and tickets are on sale now for this great gig.
