It appears everything has been quiet over in the Echofela camp the past few months but behind the scenes the band have been working harder than Santa’s elves in December.

The Falkirk based indie-pop boys have been busy securing lots of exciting contracts and deals - but frustratingly they can’t tell all just yet.

Lead singer Barry Price said: “There is a lot in the pipeline and we are so excited about them that we are desperate to spill but we have to keep it under our Santa hats just a little bit longer.”

Echofela are gearing up to release their new single ‘No One in the Background’ in January and will have it released on a major record label, complete with professional big budget video and marketing campaign.

The band, also Adam Railton on guitar, Stephen Grant on bass and drummer Graeme Bell, are also putting the finishing details on a contract to support a big name act on their UK tour in 2013, but until the ink is dry, they can’t say too much.

One thing they can talk about is a television deal that has seen their music played on a prime time soap opera.

Their last single ‘Girls Girls Ladies’ has been played twice on Channel Four series ‘Hollyoaks’ and there are talks for their music to be used in other programmes.

Barry added: “There is a lot in the pipeline but we can’t talk about it just yet. Next year is shaping up to be amazing and for us to get recognised for all our hard work. As soon as we can talk about it, we will but annoyingly we have to keep it to ourselves for just a wee bit longer.

“We have been quite quiet recently and to thank the fans so sticking by us, we have organised a free gig just before Christmas.”

Echofela will play 20 Rocks in Princes Street, Falkirk on Friday, December 21 from 8 p.m. The gig is free and will give fans the chance to hear the latest single as well as their favourite Echofela tunes.
