She’s been working nine till five to make her show the best it can be, and now, Dolly Parton tribute singer Andrea Pattison is bringing her baby to Falkirk.
The Dolly Parton Show is coming to Falkirk Town Hall this Saturday when Sunderland singer Andrea will grace the stage as the country music legend.
Andrea has four specially-made glitzy costumes which are exact replicas of the outfits Dolly has worn, and will be in character throughout the show.
The singer says she encourages the audience to really take part in the show and have as much fun as possible.
She said: “We have never been to Falkirk before, so we are very, very excited.
“We’ve been doing the show for five years now have have really been all over, from Lands End to John O’Groats.
“We’ve also been to Ireland this year, so the show’s been going even more further afield.
“I’m really looking forward to being in Falkirk and having a chat with everyone afterwards.”
Andrea has been a professional singer since leaving college in 1996.
But it was when she recorded some of her own original songs, more and more people commented that her voice was vocally similar to Dolly’s and that’s been something I had heard for a while.
Andrea said: “My own songs were similar to what Dolly does as I sing about my childhood and my own life.
“Since we’ve been doing the show, I’ve had a great time, especially with doing things like learning the accent which has been lots of fun.”
The line-up for the Dolly Parton Show is all about having fun and enjoying some of Dolly’s most popular numbers.
Andrea said: “I go through Dolly’s music, and encourage people to get involved.
“I don’t want people just to sit and listen when they really want to be singing along,
“I want the audience to be fully included.”
“I really love meeting and chatting to people afterwards, many of them Dolly fans and who have seen Dolly in concert.”
Andrea, who will be backed by the four- piece band ‘The Partoners’. added: “I love what I do.
“Dolly is such a wonderful and fun person to emulate.
“I find that more and more young people are really enjoying Dolly’s music and come along to the shows, probably after her appearance in the Hannah Montana movie.”
Tickets for The Dolly Parton Show are £18.50/£17.50 and available from Falkirk Steeple Box Office on (01324) 506850
